21st Craft Fair & Grand Draw 2016

On Saturday 5th November, St Peter’s Church hosted  the 21st  annual craft fair,  the sun shone outside and the 40 stalls looked amazing inside, with a fantastic array of superb work.  The quality and variety of work meant that folk shopped enthusiastically, much to the delight of the craftspeople, many of whom also demonstrated their fascinating skills, and such interest was shown that in the new year we will be hosting  workshops with these craftspeople,  for book folding, needlefelting and encaustic wax painting; see later updates for details.

The lovely atmosphere that always prevails at this event was evident, and once again it was extremely well attended by visitors, many from far afield,  but also, as always, by the wonderful Hooky folk who turned out in force to support St Peter’s; thank you all. It is also heartening  that so many folk who no longer live in the village put the date in their diaries and come back for this special day to catch up with old friends whilst enjoying all that this great event has to offer. For those near and far who like to be very organised – next year’s date is Saturday 4th November!

The fabulous Grand Draw with over 80 prizes this year was once again a huge success; our grateful  thanks go to the many individuals and  businesses who sponsored or provided prizes, too many to name them all, but special thanks go to: Nigel Matthews Plant Hire, Thomas Franks & Co, and King & Woolley Estate Agents. Our heartfelt thanks also go to all who helped in any way on the actual day in order to make this lovely event happen; with your help and support we raised a magnificent £6,321.
