ALPHA COURSES

Explore the meaning of life!

"OVER 2 MILLION PEOPLE IN THE UK AND 8 MILLION WORLDWIDE HAVE NOW ATTENDED AN ALPHA COURSE, AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLORE THE MEANING OF LIFE, RUNNING IN TENS OF THOUSANDS OF CHURCHES OF ALL DENOMINATIONS ACROSS THE WORLD".

Licensed Lay Minister, Janet Collins, welcomes us into her home to participate in Alpha, an introductory course centred on 'faith', which has changed so many people's lives. This 10-week programme begins each week with a shared supper, and then explores different aspects of the Bible, Faith and Christianity through a short DVD and discussion time.

Janet, along with Sheila Acreman and Jan Hughes, have been running Alpha in Hook Norton for many years, and each new course does become fully booked fairly quickly. Please contact Janet directly or send us an e-mail if you would like any further details.

Font Cafe

The Font Cafe is open in St Peter's Church for tea, coffee, biscuits and a chat, every Tuesday and Saturday.

Opening times: 10:00 am to 12:00 noon

The Font Cafe is run by a rota of volunteers, providing an opportunity for fellowship. Children and well-behaved dogs welcome! Freshly brewed coffee, tea and biscuits are free of charge. We serve only Traidcraft or Fairtrade products.

Do come and join us for a cuppa.

Bible Study Groups

There are two Bible Study Groups, each meeting twice a month in the homes of church members, to explore the meaning of God's word.

Recent courses have focused on Ephesians, Psalms, the Gospel of John and ‘The birth of the Church’ in the Acts of the Apostles.

Fellowship Groups

St. Peter's uses aspects of Cell Church, and has four fellowship groups which meet in the homes of various church members to discuss matters of common interest and to explore the meaning of life!

Most, but not all of those involved in fellowship groups have previously attended Alpha courses, although this is not a pre-requisite, and a variety of life topics are discussed and related to the Bible, through books, DVDs and other media.
