Sunday Services and Worship at St Peter's

Sunday worship is at the heart of St Peter's Church life. Whether you're a regular attendee or considering visiting for the first time, we'd love to welcome you to experience worship with us.

Service Times and Format

St Peter's holds regular Sunday services following the Church of England tradition. Our services blend traditional and contemporary elements, creating an atmosphere that feels both reverent and welcoming. We use the Book of Common Prayer and modern liturgies, with hymns and music that appeal to different tastes.

What to Expect

Our services typically include prayers, readings from the Bible, a sermon, hymn singing, and Holy Communion (the Eucharist). The service usually lasts about an hour. Don't worry if you're unfamiliar with church services—our congregation is friendly and patient with newcomers, and service books are provided to help you follow along.

Preparing for Your Visit

• Arrive a few minutes early to find a seat and get comfortable
• There's no dress code; wear whatever makes you feel comfortable
• You don't need to have any particular knowledge or belief to attend
• If you're unsure about anything during the service, simply follow those around you
• Communion is available to baptised Christians; all are welcome to attend even if you don't take communion

After the Service

After most services, we gather for tea, coffee, and refreshments. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet other parishioners in a relaxed setting. Our community is genuinely welcoming, and many visitors find this time as meaningful as the service itself.

Special Services

Beyond regular Sunday worship, St Peter's hosts special services throughout the year, including Christmas, Easter, harvest celebrations, and memorial services. These occasions bring additional meaning and are excellent times to join us if you're thinking about attending church.

Children and Young People

St Peter's welcomes children of all ages. We offer Sunday school and children's activities during some services, and young people are encouraged to participate fully in church life. Parents should feel confident bringing children to services—we have facilities to support families.

If you have any questions about visiting St Peter's, please don't hesitate to contact us. We look forward to welcoming you.
