Supporting St Peter's: Donations and Fundraising

St Peter's Church depends on the generosity of our community to maintain our building, support our ministry, and serve Hook Norton. Whether you're a regular worshipper or simply value our church's presence in the village, there are meaningful ways to contribute.

Why Financial Support Matters

Running a historic church building requires significant resources. We need funds for roof repairs, heating, lighting, insurance, and maintaining our facilities to safe, welcoming standards. Beyond building maintenance, we support our vicar, organist, and various community programmes. Every donation, regardless of size, makes a real difference.

Ways to Give

• Weekly Collections: We pass a collection plate during Sunday services for those who wish to contribute
• Standing Orders: Regular monthly donations provide predictable income and help with budgeting
• Online Giving: Many parishioners prefer the convenience and security of online donations
• Gift Aid: If you're a UK taxpayer, the church can claim Gift Aid on your donations, increasing their value at no cost to you
• Legacies: Leaving a gift to St Peter's in your will ensures your support continues long-term

Fundraising Events

Throughout the year, St Peter's organises fundraising events that serve double purposes: raising funds and building community. These might include coffee mornings, quiz nights, garden parties, or seasonal celebrations. These events are fun, sociable occasions that everyone can enjoy whilst supporting the church.

Transparency and Accountability

We take stewardship seriously. Our finances are regularly reviewed by the church council and independently audited. We're transparent about how funds are spent and happy to discuss our financial position with anyone interested.

Tax Efficiency

If you're a UK taxpayer, registering for Gift Aid means the church receives an additional 25% on top of your donation at no cost to you. This is a simple process that significantly increases the impact of your giving.

Making a Difference

Your support directly enables St Peter's to continue its mission: maintaining a beautiful place of worship, serving our community, and providing spiritual guidance to all who seek it. Whether through regular giving, occasional donations, or volunteering time, you're helping secure St Peter's future.

If you'd like to discuss giving to St Peter's, or have questions about Gift Aid or other giving options, please speak with our churchwardens or vicar. We're grateful for your support.
